de Vere’s Melt Month, Week 2: The Jalapeno Popper

January 9th, 2012 | Comments (1)

January is Melt Month at de Vere’s in Sacramento. Four weeks, four golden-grilled, cheesy sandwiches to try. Number two? The Jalapeno Popper! This melty masterpiece consists of a grilled cheese sandwich filled with cream cheese, jalapeno, and onion, covered in panko crumbs, and fried until golden–not greasy. It’s crispy, flavorful, and available this week only. Pair it with a craft beer and you’ll have the perfect meal. Enjoy!

Just got the Jalapeno Popper melt in on the last day. I’m not a jalapeno popper fan, but I really enjoyed this melt, I think that the cream cheese made the difference for me. Fortunately, tomato bisque was the soup for the day, so a cup of that with this melt, and a pint of Guinness, made for an overall great meal.
